Scout Woggle Turk’s Head Jig

A 3D printed Turk’s Head woggle jig designed to help scouts, beginners and paracord makers tie neat, repeatable woggles with confidence.

The mandrel includes crisp embossed over-under guides and metal pins, making the knot path easier to follow and the finished woggle more consistent.

Embossed Woggle Jig for Learning Turk’s Head Knots

This improved Turk’s Head woggle jig is designed for tying traditional scout woggles, decorative bands, keychains and small paracord knots.

The surface of the mandrel includes a raised path that follows the true knot sequence. This makes the knot much easier to learn than tying freehand or working from a flat diagram.

The included metal split pins fit into the marked holes to hold the cord in place as you work around the jig. This helps keep the structure clear while you follow the over-under pattern.

What’s Included

  • 1 × 3D printed embossed Turk’s Head woggle mandrel
  • Metal split pins for the full knot layout
  • Elastic band for securing the starting point
  • Printed or online tying guidance depending on listing option

Cord is not included.

How the Jig Works

Insert the metal pins into the marked holes, secure the cord at the starting point, then follow the embossed path around the mandrel.

At each crossing, the raised guide and existing strand help show whether the cord should pass over or under. Once the knot has been followed around the jig, you can trace the first pass again to build a fuller woggle.

After tying, remove the pins and gradually tighten the knot, working the slack around the woggle little by little. Roll the finished knot on a hard surface to help flatten and dress it before finishing the ends.

Tying Sequence

The jig is designed for a 3-lead, 4-bight Turk’s Head knot. The basic path is:

  • A1 → B2
  • B2 → A4
  • A4 → B1
  • B1 under → A3
  • A3 under → B4
  • B4 under, then over → A2
  • A2 under, then over → B3
  • B3 under, then over → A1

The knot can then be followed again with the same cord, or with a second colour, depending on the finished effect you want.
